Devotions part 2

Devotions are a big part of every Christians life right? But do we do them because we are looking to grow spiritually closer to god, or because it's something we've become accustom to it it's in our routine so we do them. Well if you do them because of the first you are on the right path and I hope you do draw closer to God through your effort,but if you are doing them because of the second i hope you wake up and realize like I did that it's meaningless when you do them simply because their apart of your routine. They mean so much more when you do them because you want a closeness with God that comes only from hard work and an understanding that this kind of closeness takes time but it's worth it in the end.
